Airbus stort neer in New Yorkse Hudson River

Een Airbus van US Airways is vanavond neergestort in de New Yorkse Hudson River. Er waren 146 passagiers aan boord.

Verschillende inzittenden belandden in het ijskoude water. Het toestel was opgestegen in LaGuardia, de tweede luchthaven van New York City, en was op weg naar Charlotte in de staat North Carolina. Volgens Amerikaanse media zijn er vogels in de motor terechtgekomen, waarop de gezagsvoerder besloot om terug te keren.

De hulpdiensten zijn massaal ter plaatse.
