The Man Booker Prize for Fiction is to broadcast an evening of readings by this year's shortlisted authors to cinemas around the UK, through a partnership with Picturehouse Entertainment.
On 15th October, the evening before the winner of the 2012 prize is announced, the shortlisted authors will read and discuss their work in front of an audience at the Southbank's Festival Hall in London. The event will be broadcast simultaneously to cinemas around the country as Man Booker Live, with tickets going on sale at cinemas this Friday, 17th August.
Booker Prize Foundation literary director Ion Trewin said: "We are delighted to be partnering with the Southbank and Picturehouse and to be able to share, for the first time, the occasion with readers all over the country."
The shortlist of six will be announced on 11th September, with the winner to be announced on 16th October.
