ADVISORY-JUN07-REUTERS: GERMANY WORLD CUP 2006 COVERAGE PLAN

++ ATTENTION SPORTS CLIENTS ++
(FIRST SENT APR28)

Here is some information regarding the RVN World Cup operation in Germany
from June 9 to July 9 this year.

1. Coverage: We will be making full use of the fantastic
infrastructure we have in Germany to produce what we hope will be the best
World Cup coverage ever.
- Reuters crews, deployed in the major hubs, will cover team arrivals,
training, pre-match pressers, pre-match day orientation by the teams in the
venues, fans, security, sponsor events and any of the many sidebars which
accompany major events of this kind.
- LIVE coverage is currently in the planning stages but we aim to have LIVE
coverage on each match day.
- As non-rightsholders, we do not have access to any venues on match days.
Anything which happens inside a venue (fan clashes, post match pressers, mixed
zone interviews etc) will not be available to us. However in the event of a
major disaster inside any of the stadia, we will, of course demand news access
to that coverage.

2. Feeds: In addition to the 5 daily scheduled sports feeds, from
June 7 until July 9 2006 Reuters will be delivering World Cup coverage on two
additional, World Cup specific feeds:
World Cup 1 at 1400gmt
World Cup 2 at 2300gmt.
Rolling coverage will be included in all Sports, World and Breaking News
feeds throughout the day.

3. Websites: As was the case with the Winter Olympics, we will have
a dedicated World Cup channel on the Reuters websites. We aim to upload as
much of the daily coverage as possible to this site and hope that you will
find it useful as an editorial tool to browse through what RVN has
available.

4. Highlights: Chances are slim but we are continue to investigate
all possible options to acquire rights to highlights of the games.
We hope you have been making use of the plethora of preview coverage we
have thus far distributed on WNS. Repeats of the best coverage will be
delivered to subscribers in bulk via WNS in the weeks ahead of the tournament.
Advisories as to timings of these repeat feeds will be sent closer to the
time.

Please feel free to contact the Sports Desk with any queries you might
have.
